وقال بيدري في تصريحات نشرتها صحيفة “ماركا” الإسبانية عقب نهاية المباراة: “لقد كانت مباراة صعبة للغاية، كنا نعلم أننا قادمون لمواجهة فريق يُمكنه فعل أي شيء”.

وأضاف: “توقيت الهدف كان سيئًا للغاية بالنسبة لنا، ونحن لم يكن لدينا العديد من التسديدات على المرمى”.

وواصل: “علينا أنّ أنظر إلى الاخطاء التي ارتكبناها والتعلم منها، من أجل التحسّن قبل مباراتنا في دوري أبطال أوروبا”.

وأردف: “لقد واجهنا فريق يُدافع بشكل جيد للغاية، ولم يتركوا لنا أي مساحات، علينا أن نرى المباراة مرة أخرى بهدوء في المنزل، من أجل رؤية الأخطاء والتعلم منها”.

وأتم تصريحاته بالحديث عن الإصابة القوية التي تعرض لها جيرارد بيكيه، وأجبرته على الخروج من المباراة: “أنا لا أعرف أي شيء، دعونا نأمل ألا يكون تعرض لشيء خطير، وأنّ تكون الإصابة أقل قوة”.

Who else thought this season was going to be Southampton’s last in the Premier League? Time and time again the Saints had to show that they truly do have nerves of steel. That, and the fact that their hiring of Ralph Hasenhüttl turned out to possibly be signing of the season.

Indeed, times were tough this season for Southampton, but it really is time to move on and look forward to a full pre-season with Hasenhüttl at the helm. But before we do look ahead towards what is an exciting time on the south coast, just how did Southampton manage to stay up?

Here are a couple of games we feel really defined the Saints’ survival season.

Southampton 3-2 Arsenal (Sunday 16th December 2018)

A 19th-placed Southampton pulling off a 3-2 win over top-four chasing Arsenal? This is why we love the Premier League.

No one could quite believe what had happened after this game, but it proved to be the match that may have just allowed some of the Saints’ players to believe that they are in fact good enough to play in the Premier League.

Of course, the win didn’t shoot them out of reach of the relegation zone straight away, but it did go a long way in the bigger picture and turned out to be the fixture that may have just kicked started the survival plan.

Southampton 2-0 Fulham (Wednesday 27th February 2019)

Once again we found Southampton sitting in the relegation zone and once again, they showed that they had the nerve of a Premier League side. Despite the fact that they were playing against a fellow struggling team, the Saints managed to overpower Fulham and in turn got them out of the relegation zone once again, a result that inspired a 2-1 victory over Spurs a couple of weeks later. Yet again, an incredible result.

The will power shown by Southampton over the course of the season was certainly something to admire to, and these two extremely important wins certainly led to their safety.

Victor Wanyama, Eric Dier, Moussa Sissoko, Harry Winks. All have proven their worth in some shape or form for Tottenham in recent seasons, and particularly for the latter two, Mauricio Pochettino has coaxed another level out of them. But, despite reaching the Champions League final, even the most ardent of Spurs fans will nod their heads in agreement, and accept that central midfield is potentially the one area where the north London side could significantly upgrade on. And with money hopefully set to be spent this summer, then look no further than Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele.

Valued at £45m by Transfermarkt, the Frenchman has been linked with some of the world’s best sides this season, and according to French publication L’Equipe, the midfielder could be set for a move to Lyon’s Ligue 1 rivals Paris Saint-Germain. But, keeping an eye on developments, are seemingly (previously reported by Football.London) a Spurs side intent on breaking their self-imposed transfer window exile, and making a big-money move to whet the appetite of their longing fans.

Ndombele has become a key cog in Lyon’s midfield engine room since initially joining the club on loan in the summer of 2017. The now French international has earned rave reviews for his performances this year, particularly in his side’s impressive victory over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in the Champions League group stages. As a predominantly box-to-box midfielder, the 22-year-old carries the ball forward powerfully, and particularly this campaign, has added an end product to his game.

With two goals and eight assists to his name this season, Ndombele would bring an exciting upgrade on Sissoko in the Spurs midfield. The comparisons between the two athletic and rampaging central midfielders are obvious, but where the former excels is in his decision-making and greater consistency.

Indeed, Ndombele’s Lyon boss Bruno Genesio said of him last season (via Goal): “He’s thoughtful and intelligent. He’s interesting because he’s one of those players capable of solving tactical problems with his game intelligence.”

For Pochettino, who prides his players on adapting to his different tactical demands and match situations, Ndombele just seems like the perfect signing. Not just in terms of the statement it would make in fending off competition from many of European football’s giants, but also the impact he could have on the team.

Lucas Moura has certainly been one of Spurs’ best signings in recent years, and has firmly shaken off the tag of being a PSG reject. So, how powerful would it be then, if the north London side rubbed salt into the wounds of their illustrious Parisien counterparts, and beat them to the signing of one of France’s most exciting football talents as well?

وفاز باشاك شهير على مانشستر يونايتد في ملعب الفريق التركي بهدفين مقابل هدف.

وقال بوروك في تصريحات نشرها الموقع الرسمي للبطولة: “لقد أظهر فوزنا في الجولة الماضية أننا منافس جاد، كما أنها مهدت الطريق لنا لإنهاء المرحلة في المركز الثالث أو الثاني”.

وأضاف: “سنخوض مباراة حاسمة للغاية، لدينا الكثير من الأسباب لتحقيق الفوز غدًا أمام مانشستر يونايتد”.

وأوضح: “إنها واحدة من تلك المباريات التي تحتاج للفوز بها من أجل نجاحك ونجاح بلدك، فضلًا عن هيبة المباراة نفسها”.

واستكمل: “نريد الفوز من أجل نادينا ولصالح كرة القدم التركية ولأنفسنا، نحن نمر بفترة صعبة للغاية، وأتمنى أن نحاول تمثيل بلادنا بأفضل طريقة كما فعلنا في المباراة الأولى”.

Even for Arsenal’s standards, Wednesday night’s Europa League final defeat was pretty special in terms of how disastrous it was.

In a game where the Gunners simply had to win, the north London side suffered one of the club’s most embarrassing results in their history with a 4-1 defeat to a Chelsea side seemingly at war with its own manager, their star player already with his mind somewhere else, and a transfer ban looming over their shoulders.

Chelsea, who also already finished in a Champions League spot in the Premier League, looked like a team who wanted to win, whilst Arsenal, yet again, just keeled over and died before our very eyes.

It was an all too familiar story. Strikers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette were isolated and failed to do a thing, Sead Kolasinac tried to bomb forward but couldn’t manage one successful pass into the penalty area, and Mesut Ozil once again vanished as he floated around the pitch.

It wasn’t until Alex Iwobi, and a player who most fans have written off, and Joe Willock came on in the second half that the Gunners finally started showing some fight, but by then it was too late, and the damage has already been done.

The loss in Baku will remain a black scar on Arsenal until a return Champions League happens, whenever that will be, but the defeat also proved what many had speculated, the club have a mentality problem.

Pound-for-pound, Arsenal had the best XI out there at the Olympic Stadium, but because Chelsea’s mentality of always wanting to win silverware despite the ‘disastrous’ season they have had proved to be the difference maker, and in doing so set the Gunners back to square one in their long-term plan to return to the top.

Arsenal could have made it a night to remember, but instead, fans saw the same club that capitulated against Crystal Palace and Brighton, and if changes aren’t made this summer, there is a genuine fear the Gunners will never return to the former glories their fans want so desperately.

وجاء ارتباط ليفربول بـ كاباك بعد تعرض الهولندي فيرجيل فان دايك لإصابة طويلة الأمد خلال مواجهة إيفرتون، في شهر أكتوبر الماضي.

وحسب صحيفة “توتو سبورت” الإيطالية، فإن ميلان أثار قلق إدارة ليفربول بعد تحركه لضم كاباك، في فترة الانتقالات الشتوية القادمة.

وأوضحت أن كاباك يتواجد على رادار نادي ميلان لتعزيز خط دفاع الفريق في منتصف الموسم.

وأشارت إلى أن مسؤولي النادي الإيطالي تواصلوا بالفعل مع وكيل المدافع التركي لبحث إمكانية نقله إلى سان سيرو، مطلع العام الجديد.

وتُقدر القيمة المالية لـ كاباك في الوقت الحالي بـ20 – 30 مليون جنيه إسترليني.

It looks like it’s going to be a big summer for Tottenham.

The Champions League finalists haven’t signed a single player in the last two transfer windows, so one would assume that the cash has been building up nicely.

Additionally, Spurs made a whopping €69.45m (£61.83m) from their run to the Champions League final alone, which will surely have bumped up Mauricio Pochettino’s transfer budget this summer.

The north Londoners have also revealed their list of players who will be let go this summer, with Fernando Llorente and Michel Vorm amongst the names – the pair’s exits will free up £105k from the weekly wage bill as they were earning £75k-a-week and £40k-a-week respectively last season.

So, with money to spend, how could Tottenham line up next season?

After a poor 2018/19 campaign, Kieran Trippier’s future is up in the air and the Englishman has already admitted that he doesn’t know where his future lies.

In that case, a right-back should be a priority and Nice star Youcef Atal has been linked with a £34m move – Spurs have reportedly already made an enquiry.

On the other side, Everton star Lucas Digne is a target and the Toffees have allegedly said that they want Danny Rose and cash for the France international.

Midfield is a very thin area and was further weakened by the January decision to sell Mousa Dembele, so reinforcements there are a must.

Lyon sensation Tanguy Ndombele has been strongly linked with a move, whilst Pochettino is reportedly keen to secure his fellow countryman Giovani Lo Celso; a £53m bid has been submitted to Real Betis.

Danish international Christian Eriksen has placed his Spurs future in doubt by revealing that he’d like a change, so extra cash could be coming in from his potential departure.

To replace him in the front four, PSV Eindhoven forward Steven Bergwijn is on the radar and Spurs are said to be leading the chase for the Dutchman, who is expected to leave the Eredivisie for £35m this summer.

وتحدث ميشيل عن إنجاز الأهلي وفرحته في تصريحات نقلتها صحيفة “La Province” البلجيكية، وقال: “الأمر بسيط للغاية، لم يعد بإمكاني التحدث ولم يكن هناك صوت يخرج بعد كل الاحتفالات التي عشناها بعد الفوز بالبطولة”.

وتابع: “كان نهائي مصريًا بنسبة 100%، ديربي قوي ومرهق للغاية، كانت نهاية استثنائية قبل دقائق من الصافرة الأخيرة”.

وأضاف: “لم يكن هناك مشجعون في الملعب، لكننا انفجرنا بعد الهدف الثاني، ركض الجميع إلى أفشة (الدقيقة 86) احتفالاً بما قام به وتجمعنا عند إحدى زوايا الملعب بعدما ركضت من مقاعد البدلاء إلى هذا المكان، ربما قدمي تؤلمني لكنني لما أشعر بأي شيء وقتها (يضحك) رغم أن المباراة لم تنته بعد والتي استمرت حتى الدقيقة 96”.

وواصل: “رغم فوزنا بدوري أبطال إفريقيا ما زال هناك بطولتين في انتظارنا كأس مصر وكأس السوبر الإفريقي قبل نهاية عام 2020، سنبذل قصارى جهدنا للحصول عليهما”.

وعن إكمال مهمته مع الأهلي رغم رحيل فايلر: “اعتقدت أن الإدارة ستوجه لي الشكر، كما هو الحال مع أغلب الأندية، لكن في اليوم التالي لرحيل المدرب طلب مني رئيس الأهلي (محمود الخطيب) البقاء، لم أتردد لثانية واحدة لأن هذا يدل على ثقتهم بي ومددت عقدي حتى سبتمبر 2021، وهو ما يشعرني بالكثير من الفخر”.

وأتم تصريحاته: “الآن، بيتسو موسيماني من جنوب إفريقيا هو من يقود الفريق، وعلاقتنا جيدة والتدريبات تسير بشكل رائع”.

Conor Coventry could be the latest West Ham United academy graduate, perhaps destined to follow in the footsteps of Declan Rice.

The Republic of Ireland youth international is just 19 but it already showing all of the signs that he could make a first-team breakthrough sooner rather than later.

He is currently the captain of the club’s Under-23 team, having made 36 appearances for them, and has been capped at Under-17, Under-18, Under-19 and Under-21 level by his country.

Coventry has already made his senior debut for the club, playing in the 8-0 EFL Cup thumping of Macclesfield Town in 2018.

Pellegrini clearly trusts him and has given him a taste of life in the first-team, as he has been on the bench a total of four times in the Premier League.

An excellent defensive midfielder with the ability to move the ball well, while also boasting the stamina to go box-to-box, his talent has long been evident.

He made his debut in the Premier League Division 2 in 2015/16, when he was just 15.

Coventry is currently with Ireland’s U21 team in the Toulon Tournament and has helped them qualify for the semi-finals, coming on as a substitute in the recent 1-0 win over Bahrain.

There is perhaps a gap opening up too. West Ham only have Rice, Carlos Sanchez and Pedro Obiang to call upon in defensive midfield and bringing Coventry through makes sense. Rice, who Coventry will hope to emulate, is the only Premier League quality player in that trio.

He’s still a teenager, of course, and there is the likelihood that he could potentially be sent out on loan.

But promoting him to the first-team, where he can learn from Rice, now an England international, and Mark Noble, a fantastic servant to the club who is hero-worshipped by the fans, will give him the required ingredients to grow and improve as a player.

He is far from the finished article, of course, but his talents are there for all at the Irons to see.

If he is exposed to the first-team, he will be in the starting XI soon enough.
